About New World Climate
New World Climate is not about trying to prove or disprove climate change. It's simply about trying to chronicle climate anomalies in the news in order to give us a better perspective on how climate change is affecting us today.
The idea was inspired by the fact that I have seen more and more climate anomalies in the news, and even experienced them myself. However, once the media has moved on to the next big story, the public tends to forget. Without chronicling climate related events, it's difficult to comprehend what a profound and disturbing trend they represent.
Climate change isn't something that we might have to deal with in the future. It's something we are dealing with right now. The sooner we realize what is happening around us, the sooner we can start making the cultural changes we need to try to reverse the devastating effects of climate change.
If New World Climate is to have its intended impact, I need your help. If you come across a story about a climate or weather anomaly, please let me know. It can even be something that has happened in the recent past, as long as it helps illuminate the trend.
I'm looking for stories that:
- Come from reputable media outlets.
- Demonstrate very specific examples of climate or weather anomalies. Not just an isolated hurricane or tornado (these are normal), but events that suggest dramatic and unusual trends.
